2006-04-24 AJA Recommend 4Gbit Qubex with KONA 3 and KONA LHe Capture Cards

San Jose, CA - April 24, 2006 - Fibrenetix USA Inc., storage provider for the content creation, broadcast and delivery markets today announced that AJA VIDEO SYSTEMS recommends its 4Gbit Fibre Channel Qubex RAID system for customer use with their high performance KONA 3 and KONA LHe High Definition/Standard Definition capture cards.

AJA Video Systems Inc., range of market leading capture cards are recognized in the AV and entertainment industry for the highest quality, features and capabilities at exceptional prices.

Jes Nagel, Fibrenetix CEO says, “We’re very satisfied with the test results and certification from AJA. Qubex is one of the few storage units in the market specifically designed to meet HD specifications.  Todays capture cards and HD video editing applications require completely different technology and performance levels than seen in this industry before. Taking into account an increasingly competitive market place, it was a challenge for our engineers to develop a product which could meet the demands of today’s AV users for robust, secure and cost effective storage.”

Fibrenetix 6-bay Qubex desktop RAID has been designed and developed for today’s most demanding digital content creation and streaming media applications. Featuring high performance dual 4Gbit Fibre Channel host interface, dual external hot-swap PSU’s, whisper-quiet fan and 6x hot-swap SATA-II drives offering a massive 3TB of RAID protected storage capacity. But it doesn’t stop there, Qubex is designed to support the new AV drives from Seagate and Hitachi offering 4.5TB of storage capacity by the end of Q2-06.

"AJA has seen solid performance from the Fibrenetix Qubex system when capturing and playing back the most demanding 10 bit uncompressed 4:2:2 HD media.  We can recommend the system to users looking for a 4Gb fibre channel drive solution to use in conjunction with our SD and HD capture cards," states Jon Thorn, AJA Desktop Mac Product Manager

Alan Johnson, Fibrenetix VP of Business Development & Emerging Technologies adds: “Qubex has received a lot of attention from the post production community during the last couple of months, no doubt AJA’s certification of Qubex will add to the interest.”

Qubex will showcase at NAB 2006 from April 24-27, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  Visit Fibrenetix booth SL1230.
